Dr. Bonovich is a shelter vet with a background in general practice, emergency medicine, high volume S/N, and veterinary forensics. She hopes her involvement with SDC will to improve the resources for pets in the community to improve their quality of life and strengthen the human-animal bond. While in school at the University of Georgia, she became friends with a local unhoused man, Johnny, and his dog (Cheeseburger) and saw the genuine bond they shared. It inspired her to embrace compassion for people like Johnny and provide support and resources without judgement. Dr. Bonovich enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, visiting national parks, and doing pretty much anything outdoors with her family. She has a Master’s focusing on Veterinary Forensics and enjoys learning all she can about how to advocate for animals. She also has 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 4 ducks, along with the constant influx of foster patients from the shelter.
