One Health Mobile Outreach
Nearly 20% of indigent and unhoused Americans live in rural areas. Therefore, we have developed a One Health Mobile Outreach program to provide community-centered healthcare services to at-risk people and pets living in rural areas. Since 2021 we have traveled to rural parts of Colorado and nicknamed the program COHMO. In 2024, ElleVet Project donated their “ElleVan” RV to SDC to help extend our reach to communities that have little to no access to veterinary care facilities. The Street Dog Coalition has received grant funding from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment which will allow SDC to partner with communities to address needs related to health equity and health disparities.
Our upcoming 2025 SDC COHMO clinics will allow SDC to assist in increasing immunization rates, provide educational materials on vaccines and overall health resources for people and their pets.Información sobre el programa de difusión móvil de Colorado One Health [COHMO] 2025:
