I am so grateful to be a part of the Richmond, VA chapter of The Street Dog Coalition. I call the DMV (DC- MD- VA area) my home, and Richmond is my adopted home. I graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 and spent time as a rotating intern at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington D.C. before moving back to RVA working at the Richmond SPCA with a wonderful team. I look forward to continuing to work for and with the pets and their loved ones in the Richmond community.

I saw a flyer for one of the first Street Dog Coalition clinics in Richmond a few years ago and knew I needed to get involved. As the co-founder of a local nonprofit who helps improve the lives of underserved dogs, it seemed like a perfect fit for my interests. I work in the human healthcare field (non-clinical), and spend a good amount of my free time volunteering with animal-related causes. I'm thrilled at the opportunity to play a role in expanding access to veterinary care to those most at risk. It's a wonderful feeling to see the gratitude of the pet owners helped by the Richmond area clinics!

Thanks to our wonderful partners and volunteers, we were able to help 60 pets and 40 people at our March 11, 2023, street clinic in Richmond, VA. Furbish Thrift (a nonprofit thrift store that donates proceeds to animal organizations) generously allowed us to use their building. Atlantic Outreach Group (a local nonprofit human food bank) was there distributing goodie bags and information on their new pet pantry. Richmond SPCA graciously donated pet food, and Jones Veterinary Care is providing additional care for some of the attendees with more in depth needs.
