The Seattle SDC Team is hosting a multi-site clinic in the greater Seattle area to raise awareness of World Rabies Day (Sept. 28) and the importance of vaccinating pets against infectious diseases. The clinics offer wellness care (vaccines, microchips and flea medication) as well as some human healthcare for our unsheltered and low-income neighbors with pets. The clinic will be held on Saturday, September 24 from 12-3pm at three locations around the county: Bellevue, Seattle (Georgetown) and Kent. We are working together with our animal welfare partners in the community: Doney Coe Pet Clinic, One Health Clinic, Regional Animal Services of King County, Seattle Animal Shelter and Seattle Humane. Offering this clinic in September creates an opportunity to educate the community about zoonotic diseases and ensure that pets in our community are vaccinated for rabies, one of the most fatal diseases on the planet that still kills about 59,000 people each year.
